    How a ladder works

Reserve in rungs. Cash back every month.

A T-bill ladder splits a locked reserve across 4-week, 8-week, and 13-week bills, so a tranche matures every month. Set the reserve and see the schedule from today.

Sized against reserve you have identified as locked, never against operating float. Bills are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government.

    Why savers choose Vantage.

The default places for business cash are built for convenience, not for what a reserve could earn.

    FAQ

    What businesses ask first.

Cash management first, then the retirement-plan questions owners raise on the same call.

    Cash management

    Is this investing?
It is cash management. T-bills are backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. government and mature in weeks. The practice does not place equities, mutual funds, ETFs, or long-duration bonds.
What's the minimum reserve to make this worthwhile?
Directionally: $50K or more in idle reserve earns meaningfully. $250K or more justifies a T-bill ladder. Under $25K is usually best served by high-yield checking alone.
Will I lose access to the cash?
Sweep accounts are fully liquid overnight. Ladders are sized so a tranche matures every month, and only against reserve you've identified, never your operating float.
    How are you compensated?
Through performance-based referral arrangements with institutions. There is no upfront fee to the business, and compensation is disclosed in writing before any account opens.
    What if rates change?
Configurations are reviewed annually and on request. Short-duration instruments reset at maturity, with no multi-year rate lock.

    Small-business retirement plans

    Which plan types are there?
Solo 401(k) covers the owner and spouse. SEP-IRA and SIMPLE IRA cover employees who meet age and service thresholds. A 401(k) fits larger teams; see Vantage Payroll for plan administration.
    What are the contribution limits?
Limits are set by the IRS and change each year. Your specialist works from the current year's figures for each plan type, including catch-up contributions for owners 50 and older.
    Is an employer match required?
Not for Solo 401(k) or SEP-IRA, where contributions are discretionary. A SIMPLE IRA requires either a dollar-for-dollar match up to 3% or a flat 2% non-elective contribution.
    How does vesting work?
SEP-IRA and SIMPLE IRA contributions vest immediately. A 401(k) can apply a vesting schedule set against retention goals.
Can participants take money out early?
Distributions before age 59½ are generally subject to income tax plus a 10% penalty, with limited exceptions. A 401(k) can optionally allow loans up to 50% of the vested balance, capped at $50,000.
Can existing plans be rolled over?
Generally yes. Prior employer 401(k)s, traditional IRAs, and qualified plans can move by direct trustee-to-trustee transfer, or within 60 days, without a taxable event.
